The global shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) is increasingly recognized as a crucial step in combating climate change and achieving sustainability in transportation. This literature review examines the recent surge in EV usage and how environmental consciousness among consumers, corporations, and governments policy and is influenced by this trend. The review synthesizes current academic and policy literature to explore the interconnections between technological advancement, policy incentives, environmental awareness, climate change and consumer purchase intention. It also highlights regional trends and challenges, especially in emerging economies, and identifies key gaps for future research.
