Abstract

Child labor is an international phenomenon. However, it varies greatly in size and scope from one nation to the next. Despite numerous steps done by governmental and non-governmental organizations to address this issue, India has the highest child labor force in the world. We must first grasp and comprehend the concept of labor before we can comprehend the concept of child labor. An important difference between humans and animals is that animals use only the products of nature, but humans adapt and transform nature to serve their purposes. The present study deals with study the nature and extent of of child labour, to identify the causes of child labour in India problems and causes of child labour in India. The present study it is based on only secondary sources of information.

Dr. Nagesha B, Guest Lecturer, Department of PG Studies and Research in Economics, Kuvempu University, Jnana Sahydri, Shankaraghatta, Shivamogga District of Karnataka State

Dr. Nagesha B, as after obtaining Master of Arts in Economics (Ist Class 75%) from the University of Mysore in 2012-14. He has completed for Ph.D., on a contemporarily relevant issue of Migration focusing on Chitradurga District of Karnataka State in the year of 2022.  He is currently working as Guest Lecturer, Department of PG Studies and Research in Economics, Kuvempu University, Jnana Sahydri, Shankaraghatta, Shivamogga District of Karnataka State. He has already published so many research papers in different National and International Journals of repute, apart from presentation of papers @ the National and International level Seminar/Conferences during the period. He has also attended 04 useful Research Methodology workshops related to Research. His research interests include Migration and Population Studies, Development of Economics, Labour Economics etc.

Dr. Ravindranath N Kadam, Professor, Department of Studies in Economics, Karnatak University, Pavate Nagar, Dharwad District of Karnataka State

Dr. Ravindranath N Kadam as received his Bachelor of Arts from Karnataka University, Dharwad, Master of Arts in Economics, from Shivaji University, Kolhapur Maharastra. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree in Economics from Karnatak University, Dharwad. He is currently working as Professor of Economics, Karnatak University, Pavate Nagar, Dharawd District of Karnataka State. He has already published several articles National and International Journals of repute, apart from presentation of papers @ the National and International level Seminar/Conferences during the period. His research contributions are in the area of Development Economics, Banking & Finance, Co-Operative Management.  He is also a member of Board of Studies and Board of Examination from different universities in Karnataka and India.
